Kitchen Hero Cook-Off Win Raises $20,000 for Charity
Each year, the Texas Pete Kitchen Hero Cook-Off brings together culinary leaders for a mystery-box cooking challenge that puts their creativity and skills to the test, all while supporting a greater cause.
This year, our Head Pitmaster, Jessica Bograd, represented City Barbeque at the competition during The Flavor Experience, cooking alongside talented culinary leaders from Farmer Boys, Chili’s and Bloomin’ Brands. Each chef was tasked with creating a dish from their mystery-box ingredients while incorporating Texas Pete products.
Jess created a pan-roasted chicken thigh in chile crisp featuring Texas Pete Original Buffalo Sauce and DUST Dry Seasoning, earning the top spot in the competition.
While we’re incredibly proud of Jess, we’re even more grateful for the impact this win will make. In recognition of her win, Texas Pete is donating $20,000 to No Kid Hungry and CORE on behalf of City Barbeque. Both organizations provide meaningful support to people and communities within and beyond the restaurant industry.
We’re grateful to have been part of an event that brings together incredible culinary talent for an even greater cause. A big thank you to Garner Foods, Texas Pete, Flavor & The Menu and The Flavor Experience for having us - and congratulations to Jess on an incredible win! ❤️
