In 1999, a farm kid teamed up with an award-winning barbeque competition team.
They bought an old doughnut shop in Ohio and opened a new BBQ joint. Today, that original City Barbeque is one of more than 35 across the country, but we still use those competition tested recipes and techniques in every restaurant. Through respect for tradition and a culture of continuous improvement, we’ve managed to keep winning (and winning… and winning) awards for our ‘que, catering, and company culture.
We’re proud of these wins, but we’re sure to never lose sight of our ultimate purpose. And if serving award-winning barbeque is what creates happiness, well, we’re probably making a lot of people pretty darn happy.
