On Tuesday, November 11, City Barbeque will provide a free sandwich platter to all military veterans and troops and will be working with Elderheart to raise awareness about their Mission 22 project with dine in guests on Veterans day.Mission 22 is an Elderheart campaign designed to raise awareness about the devastating fact that 22 U.S. military veterans commit suicide every day as a result of post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury.“Honoring the service of our veterans is something that is very important to us,” said Rick Malir, president and founder of City Barbeque. “At City Barbeque, we can show appreciation by serving veterans a great BBQ meal—I encourage everyone to find a way to express a sincere thank you for the courage, dedication, and sacrifice of our veterans.”
All City Barbeque locations in Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Indianapolis and Cary, NC are participating. One free half pound sandwich platter will be given to each veteran for either dine-in or carryout orders. City Barbeque will be open 10:30 am—10 pm on November 11.
Elderheart is a Veteran organization that does community projects as well as public, private and corporate art to raise awareness for the 22 Veteran suicides that occur every day. Their purpose is to employ and empower Veterans while raising this awareness.
